Conejos, Chahue, Maguey, Organo, Chachacual, San Agustin, Tangolunda, Santa Cruz and Cacaluta are the names of the nine natural bays that together make up Huatulco, a tourist destination originally developed by the Mexican government.
\r\n\r\nThe Huatulco Bays are located along more than 21 thousand hectares (52 ac) which run along 35 kilometers (22 mi) of coastline of 7 kilometers (4 mi) wide. Additionally, they are surrounded by the impressive Sierra Madre Mountains and lush rainforests that are worth exploring.
\r\n\r\nNature in Huatulco is so important that in 2005 the town became the first tourist destination on the North American continent and the third one in the world to be awarded the Green Globe certification, a program that responds to the ecological needs of the planet.
\r\n\r\nNow, Huatulco features an excellent tourist infrastructure, with hotels, restaurants, stores, galleries, nightclubs, bars and golf courses, all of them located within the bays of Santa Cruz, Tangolunda, and the urban sector of La Crucecita.
\r\n\r\nHuatulco’s marine life is quite rich, for that reason it has become an excellent option for practicing activities such as diving and fishing; this last one is a favorite among national and international travelers. The magic waterfalls of Copalitilla offer the possibility to swim in its natural lakes and ride horseback, allowing both experienced and novice riders the chance to explore the jungle, river or beach.
\r\n\r\nFor all that it has to offer, Huatulco is the perfect place to take a break and enjoy a pleasant vacation.

Tlayudas (long roast tortilla covered with various ingredients), tasajo (cut of meat), and quesillo (Oaxaca cheese) are essential to enjoy the tastes of Huatulco. All mole varieties are also succulent: black, red, chichilo, green, yellow, and mancha manteles; all of them are nationwide renowned, as well as internationally. The tables of Huatulco are where the ingredients of Oaxacas cuisine joins seafood, such as shrimp, lobster, and octopus, to produce dishes of exotic flavors, like the delicious jumbo shrimp broth or pescado a la talla, mariscadas calientes, and exotic pineapples stuffed with seafood au gratin.
Undoubtedly, one of the dishes that you cannot miss during your visit to Huatulco is mezcal shrimp. This unique dish combines exquisite freshly caught shrimp from the sea with tamarind sauce, white wine, and mezcal.
Huatulco offers delicious beverages which may accompany the delicious dishes of the region, as in the case of mezcal, which is obtained from milling and distilling the agave or maguey plant. Other typical drinks are chocolate with water and atole in different flavors.
Restaurants on different beaches or at the central square are good choices to savor this delicacy from the sea; Doña Celia and other venues at the hotels are also nice options.

","toBring":"Rainy season (June to mid-October): the heaviest rainfall occurs in September, which increases humidity and the apparent temperature. The average temperature is 38 °C (100 °F).
Dry season (mid-October to May): this season has practically no rain and humidity is at its lowest levels. Nights are cool and there may be some wind, especially in areas near the beach. The average temperature is 18 °C (64 °F).
We recommend packing light clothing made of natural fibers that dry quickly, comfortable shoes, a swimsuit, a towel, sunscreen, a cap or a hat, and sunglasses. We also suggest you to bring long-sleeved shirts. During the dry season, we recommend packing a light sweater and trousers for the evenings. Remember to bring an umbrella or a rain jacket.
- We recommend you to stay well hydrated.
- If you travel between October and May, bring a light sweater, especially if you plan to dine near the beach.
- Some restaurants request a dress code, so we recommend packing trousers, shirts, and formal shoes, and a dress or a skirt for ladies.
Wet season (June to mid-October): this is the rainy season for the Bays of Huatulco, with especially heavy precipitations in September. This causes humidity to rise making you feel hotter than it really is. You should bring sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, light clothing (from natural fibers that dry off fast), comfortable shoes, portable umbrella and/or a light rain jacket.
\r\n\r\nDry season (mid-October to May): these are the dryer months, where rain will be very scarce, almost non-existent and humidity will be at its lowest. Evenings and nights will be cooler, especially in the beach area, due to the sea breeze. You should bring sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, light clothing, comfortable shoes, portable umbrella and/or a light rain jacket since it will still be raining now and then. Make sure you also bring a light sweater or jacket for those windy nights. Long sleeved shirts and pants are also recommended.
